Meet the Team
Our team consists of highly qualified and motivated professionals, who are all experts in their field. With many years of experience in the industry, they have the expertise to provide comprehensive, first-rate services to our clients.
Andrew McLaughlin
Andrew McLaughlin trained and practised with some of Scotland's leading private firms before establishing the firm in 2013. Andrew is particularly interested in divorce and family law, adults with incapacity matters and also debt recovery and commercial disputes. Andrew also enjoys taking on difficult or unusual cases and has appeared before many different courts and tribunals. Andrew is also retained by numerous successful businesses to advise on debt recovery matters.
Andrew is a graduate of Edinburgh Law School, L.L.B (Hons) Dip L.P. and is a Notary Public.
In 2017, Andrew was appointed by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland as a Legal Member of the First-tier Tribunal For Scotland. In 2020, Andrew was further appointed to the Social Security Chamber and in 2022 was then also appointed to the Local Taxation Chamber.
Laura McLaughlin
Laura McLaughlin trained and practised at the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for 10 years where she appeared in Sheriff and Justice of the Peace courts across Scotland. Laura also worked in a number of specialised units including those dealing with Health and Safety prosecutions, High Court sexual offences, international co-operation and extradition, and deaths.
Laura is an experienced litigator, however her experience has also afforded her excellent negotiation skills which she uses to ensure all options are explored on behalf of her clients before litigation is considered. Laura leads the firm's criminal defence practice.
In October 2016 Laura was appointed as a Legal Convener of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland. In 2022 Laura was further appointed to the Local Taxation Chamber.
Laura is a graduate of Edinburgh Law School where she gained her LLB (hons) and Diploma in Legal Practice. Laura is also a Notary Public.
Megan Webb
Megan is our trainee solicitor
She is in her second year of her traineeship. During her first year Megan gained extensive experience managing her own workload and appearing before the First Tier Tribunal where she specialised in mental health. She is now enjoying diversifying her experience helping clients in both civil and criminal courts.
Jordan Nisbet
Jordan is our secretary who keeps everything on track and organised.
She has a keen interest in law having completed a law degree herself. She enjoys helping our clients through each step of their litigation process
